Talk to him, but only as a friend or acquaintance, not like you're broken-hearted or trying to pursue him. Be the best person you can be, but do it for you and not for him. Go about your life. He may be interested in someone else right now. Maybe he likes you (like he thinks you're nice) but isn't INTO you. It doesn't have to be awkward between you if you just forget it and carry on like you never even asked him. Can't say what his motives are.
