Yes, the scented cat litter can bother cats and can irritate people as well. You could try Premium Fresh Step Clumping Litter (not sure if that is the actual name) and you won't have as many problems with it. I have a cat and four kittens and they don't like the scented ones either. The clumping litter helps to keep everything together and cover them. Hope I helped!
